A Week Detoxing at The LifeCo

I stayed at the LifeCo health retreat in Phuket last week and it was an amazing experience! I learnt so much about detoxing and cleansing, as well as health which I will be incorporating into my upcoming book.   The staff were very friendly, dedicated and helpful as they explained to me what to expect during the detox, as well as supporting me through the journey which was very challenging! We were advised that the first three days will be the toughest as our body will be cleansing and we will be experiencing numerous symptoms and have no energy. After day 3, we would have more energy as our body adjusted to detoxing.   On my first day, I was advised that I was to undergo the Master Detox Program which is basically juicing for a week with no food. I was nervous and slightly apprehensive as I thought that I’d struggle and die without food for so long! I envisioned myself on starvation mode,...

The Power of Coconut Oil

There are numerous health benefits of coconut oil (and coconut in general) as it contains lauric acid. This heals the skin (perfect to fight skin conditions such as eczema), is extremely beneficial for hormonal production, kills bad bacteria and viruses in the body, provides a quick source of energy, is easy to digest, and speeds up metabolism.   50 percent of the fat content in coconut oil is a fat rarely found in nature called lauric acid. Your body converts lauric acid into monolaurin, which has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-protozoa properties. Lauric acid is a powerful virus and gram-negative bacteria destroyer, and coconut oil contains the most lauric acid of any substance on earth.   Did you know that coconut oil kills > 93% of Colon Cancer cells in vivo after 2 days? In a published lab study, lauric acid killed over 93% of human colon cancer cells (Caco-2) after 48 hours of treatment. Lauric acid poisoned the cancer cells by simultaneously unleashing profound...
